About Us

African Skies is co-owned by Avstar Aviation and Tony and Carol Benecke. The Boeing Stearman is used for tourist flights, as well as airshows and pilot training.

The aircraft is based at the Avstar Aviation hangar at Virginia Airport, from where we conduct scenic flights along the Durban Coastline. Bookings are done through Carol Benecke and several experienced pilots, including Tony Benecke, take turns in flying clients in this classic war bird.
